SANDWICH INN

If you want to experience adventure, enjoy beautiful scenery,

and gain knowledge of places near and far, please join us for the

2010 Sandwich Inn programs sponsored by the

"Friends of the Dickinson Area Public Library".

These programs are held in the Public Library Community Room

at noon on the last two Wednesdays in January and

all four Wednesdays in February.

For those who want to assure themselves a seat,

season tickets will be available at the cost of $10.00 for

all six programs. 

Individual tickets will also be sold each week for $1.00.

 

COMPUTER CLASSES

Basic computer classes will again be offered on

Monday mornings, Monday afternoons, and Monday evenings.

Each series will be 15 weeks in length and will begin

January 25, 2010 and end May 3, 2010.

Special "one topic" classes will also be offered during

that same time frame.  Suggested topics to be covered will be

"Photo Editing", "Word Processing", "Excel Spreadsheets",

and "Office 2007 Basics".  Other topics may also be offered.

These special "one topic" classes will be held Tuesday mornings

and Wednesday afternoons and will be six weeks in length.

Call the library for more information.

Classes will be held in the Community Room of

the Dickinson Area Public Library and will be taught by

Sharon Kickertz-Gerbig.

 

 

 Class times will be:

Monday mornings from 9:00 AM to Noon

Monday afternoons from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM

Monday evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM

Tuesday mornings from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM

Wednesday afternoons from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

             There will be a registration fee for each class which

is due at the time of registration.  If you wish to register, or have

a question, please call the library at 456-7700 or 1-800-422-0541.

 

 

AARP TAX-AIDE PROGRAM

AARP Tax-Aide is the nation's largest, free, volunteer-run

tax preparation and assistance service.   The AARP Tax-Aide program

was created to help low and middle income taxpayers prepare and file

their income tax returns with the IRS, free of charge.  Volunteers are

trained and IRS-certified to understand individual federal tax issues.

   Local AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will meet in the Community Room

of the Dickinson Area Public Library on Tuesday and Thursday

afternoons from 1:00 - 4:00 PM beginning February 2, 2010 through

April 15, 2010.  Tax-Aide is a free tax assistance service with

special attention to those age 60 and over.  Electronic filing,

paper returns and online counseling are offered by the program.

Appointments are not necessary, but please bring your last year's

tax return and all tax information for 2009.
