Library Services

Library Cards:

 Library cards are available for permanent residents/property owners of Stark, Billings, and Slope Counties free of charge.  For those living outside of our service area, we can issue a card for a small annual fee.  Temporary residents can obtain a card with a refundable $20 cash deposit.
  If a patron loses their library card - there is a $2.00 replacement fee

Check out limits:

 10 Books
  5 Audio Books - CD or cassette
  5 Magazines (excluding the most current issue)
  4 VHS movies
  2 DVD movies

Check out periods:

 Books - 2 or 4 week checkout
  Audio books - 2 week checkout
  Magazines - 1 week checkout
  VHS and DVD movies - 1 week checkout

Late charges:

 Books and audiobooks - 10¢ per item/per day
  All other formats - 25¢ per item/per day

Computer usage:

 Computers are available for patron and guest use.  Patrons must sign-in at the circulation desk with your name and library card number.  Guests will enter their city/state of residence.  For patrons under age 18, we require a parent/guardian to sign an Internet User Agreement form. Children that are younger than Junior High must have a parent/guardian sitting beside them when using the library computer.  Computer use is limited to one daily use up to 1 hour per day (special consideration given to educational research projects).  Patrons with fines exceeding $1.00 are not allowed computer usage until these charges are cleared.  Printing from library computers is permitted for a fee of 10¢  per sheet (black/ white only) picked up at the circulation desk. Headphones are available upon request at the circulation desk. 

Computer policies:

 Computer filtering is in place on all stations, so some websites may be inaccessible.   Online games, instant messaging or chatting, and online videos will not be allowed.  Inappropriate use of computers/internet will result in a cancellation of usage privileges with a ban of 1 year.

  Microfilm/microfiche reader/printer  for public use with 20¢ per page printing (The Dickinson Press 1883 to present and North Dakota Census)
  Bookmobile services to Stark, Billings and Slope counties
  Outreach to local nursing homes

Conference rooms:

 Small study rooms in lower level for sign-in use (policies available upon request))
  Capacity 6 and 8 for these rooms (reservations for use)
  Community Room for rental use when available (policies available upon request)
  Capacity 100 (reservations for use must be made with approval and deposit)
